After more than 16 years as a Change Manager in the financial services industry, I decided to follow my passion to help others more directly. A vegetarian since the age of 14, I’ve been an advocate of conscious living for some time.  However, even though I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my life, I haven’t always been the healthiest eater – especially in my teens and early twenties.  Once I learned of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition I had this “where have you been all my life?!” epiphany about what I wanted to do for others and myself.  Delving more deeply into holistic health seemed natural and an ideal way to help others, especially given the current health crisis that is creating so much inconvenience and pain. For nearly a year I commuted back and forth to NYC to attend the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as well as the Natural Kitchen Cooking School – two amazing programs. Within a year I started Pure Potential Wellness, LLC and was supporting others to make positive lifestyle changes and was making them for myself too!  My immune system was living proof – over 25 flights and a trip to India in a year and I had not gotten sick once, something that typically happened like clockwork after air travel.  And I was off the sugar merry-go-round so prevalent for those who work in corporate settings.  There really was something to eating whole foods after all!

As the late astronomer and educator Carl Sagan said, “we are made of star stuff.” Literally, we are organic beings made from the same elements that make up the universe and to regenerate we need organic materials. We need to eat foods our bodies recognize. We are doing ourselves a great disservice by consuming all of the artificial, synthetic junk-food made available to us by desensitized, profit-hungry corporations. There is a time and place for packaged food and pharmaceutical drugs, but they should be last resorts – not how we live on a daily basis. Our bodies can heal themselves when given adequate amounts of organic vitamins and minerals. These essential elements are best assimilated through whole foods rather than synthetic versions.

I received my certification to practice Holistic Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition – the only nutrition school integrating all dietary theories with an emphasis on the whole person, designed to help individuals determine what works best for them. I completed the Food As Medicine course through The Center For Mind/Body Medicine and am a certified Natural Foods Chef after attending the Natural Kitchen Cooking School. I am also a certified personal trainer and incorporate exercise into my counseling services.

I offer a complimentary one-hour health consultation. If you or someone you know needs support, I’d love to hear from you to see how I can help. To get started, just complete the confidential Health History form located under Forms.
